Started serving as a Teaching Assistant
I’ve started serving as a Teaching Assistant on July 29, 2025. This role lets me support students directly while sharpening my own foundations in software engineering and teaching practice.
What I’m assisting with
- Leading weekly labs and walkthroughs
- Holding office hours for debugging, architecture, and API design
- Reviewing assignments and giving actionable feedback
- Preparing short primers on JavaFX, Spring, JDBC, JPA,Java Streams, and REST best practices
Beyond logistics, I’m focused on helping students reason about trade-offs (performance vs. readability, DX vs. security) and build confidence shipping real features.
Highlights & tools
- Spun up example repos for MVC structure, queue jobs, and HTTP clients.
- Demoed request validation, rate limiting, and idempotency patterns.
- Shared a mini-guide on SQL query shaping and eager loading.
- Showed how to translate Figma specs into Vue components with the Composition API.
“We learn best by building—and by explaining what we’ve built.”
What’s next
I’ll publish short how-to notes for common pitfalls (auth flows, pagination, and transactional boundaries) and run optional study groups before exams. If you’re in my section and want a topic covered, ping me and I’ll prioritize it.
